Clay Hop

A small clay figure hops from shelf to shelf inside a kiln, and the shelves will not hold still. Clay Hop is a one-button platformer: the only way is up, and the glaze pooling underneath is the Kiln's own heat.

What it is

The kiln shelves drift to the left. Your hopper lands on one, wobbles, squashes down and springs off to the next. Coins on the shelves count toward the score; grape-coloured blobs hurt; and the blue glaze pooling at the bottom is Kiln heat, which fires any clay that touches it. The run ends when you fall in.

How to play

Time each hop so you land on the middle of a shelf; the edges tip you off. Watch the shelf you are aiming for, not the one you are on, and remember it is moving. Take the coins that are on your way and leave the ones that are not. Short hops are safer than long ones until you know how far the hopper flies.

Controls

• Hop: Space, Z, a tap or a click.
• Steer in the air: left and right arrows or A and D.
• On a phone, a stick and a hop button appear on the screen; tapping the game itself hops too.
