Clayju Runes

A giant made of half-fired clay is walking out of the sea toward the city of Port Calder, and the only thing that slows it is the old runes, which someone has to type while a helicopter flies you round its head. Clayju Runes is a typing game in full 3D.

What it is

Each mission puts you in the helicopter with a view of the giant and what it is walking toward: Port Calder's waterfront, the salt marsh, a dam, a river town. Runes come up to be typed; each one you land holds the giant back, and a mistake lets its heat build toward the beam it fires at the city. The missions build from the first sighting in the bay to a duel with the Warden, the city's river-clay knight, who lands blows for every word you type. The giant was fired by the Kiln: glazed skin, crazing, a dull orange glow in the cracks that brightens when it is about to act. Keep its heat down and the city stands.

How to play

Speed matters, but a wrong letter has to be corrected before the rune counts, so a steady rhythm beats a frantic one. Watch the giant between runes: when its cracks glow it is charging, and that is the moment to type fastest. The shooting range in the menu is a practice mode with its own word lists.

Controls

Rated T (teen): a giant monster and a city in danger, no blood. Needs WebGL (3D graphics), which most browsers have.
