Roulette
A single-zero wheel pressed from clay, thirty-seven pockets in the real order, and a layout of clay strips on the casino floor. The chips are play chips: the house gives you a hundred when you are under a hundred, nothing here is money, and your balance carries across the casino and onto the leaderboard.
How it plays
Pick a chip value, then tap the layout to lay it. A number pays thirty-five to one. Tap between two numbers for a split at seventeen to one, the end of a row for a street at eleven, a corner of four at eight, the end of two rows for a six line at five. The dozens and the columns pay two to one, and red or black, odd or even, low or high pay even money. The zero takes every outside bet. Lay as many as a dozen chips, tap Spin, and the ball runs the wheel the other way until it drops.
Every chip you lay is a stake the house holds until the ball settles, and every winning bet comes back with its payout. The single zero gives the house its edge of a little under three percent, the same on every bet.
Tips
There is no system that beats a fair wheel; there are only bets with the same edge and different swings. Even-money bets keep you at the table longest, a straight number is the one that changes an evening. Decide what you want from the spin before you lay the chip.
