Thumb Flap
A small lump of terracotta with a thumbprint pressed into it, and a kiln full of shelf posts drifting toward it. One tap or one key press is one flap. The blob rises, then falls, and the posts come in pairs with a gap between them. Thread the gap and you score a point. Touch a post, the ceiling or the blue glaze along the floor and the Kiln has you.
How it plays
Press Space, Z, click or tap to flap. There is nothing else to learn, which is the whole idea: the game is about rhythm, and about not flapping too much. The gaps start wide and close a little with every point, and the posts quicken as you go. Past a handful of points the posts begin to glaze over and glow with the Kiln's heat, so you can see how far you have come without reading the score.
The run ends the moment you touch anything. If the glaze on the floor takes you, the blob fires hard, rings, and shatters. If a post stops you, you are still soft and fall to the floor. Either way one more tap starts you again, and your best score stays with you on this device, or on your account if you sign in.
Tips
Short, regular flaps keep the blob near the middle of the screen, where the next gap is most likely to be. Flapping early for a high gap is easier than flapping late for a low one, because the fall is faster than the rise. Watch the gap after the one you are in: the gaps wander, but never further than a flap or two can follow.
